That is correct…That would be Georges Seurat…a French artist who developed the style depicted in this painting. The painting is….and I may not be totally correct here….SUNDAY AFTERNOON ON THE ISLAND OF LA GRANDE JATTE…!
This would be the beginning of a style that Seurat is known for developing called….POINTILLISM….Pointillism is the use of dots and dashes in painting. You must see a closeup,or a detail of this painting to fully understand Seurat’s technique. Today we use a spin off of pointillis in our public schools called STIPPLE DRAWING……But make no mistake about it, the stipple drawing is a long and tedious task depending upon the quality of work that the individual does….Good luck to you and GOD bless….
